All renters must hold a valid EU or International Driving License. It’s a requirement to rent and drive a vehicle legally in Greece.

Driver must be 21+ years old, with driver’s license held for a minimum of 12 months, for car groups A,B,C and 23+ years old, with 24 months driving license, for all other car groups.

The minimum rental period is one day (24 hours). Rental days are calculated on a 24-hour basis, starting from the vehicle pick up time.

1. Rates are calculated on the basis of collection/return to the same rental station.
2. Delivery/Collection is free from our main stations in Rethymno
3. Service will not be given for any unconfirmed reservation.

The mentioned car types are indicative only. Reservations are made based on the vehicle category-group, not for a specific model. In case of non-availability of a vehicle in the category pre-selected by the customer, always with reference to a confirmed reservation, Toprent reserves the right to provide to the customer a higher category-group car, at no extra charge.

For reservations between 21.00 till 08.00 there will be a late night delivery fee. The total charge is 25 Euros.

Payment for the rental is made upon receipt of the car in cash or by credit/debit card or you can book your rental through our site. In special cases you may need to pay in advance to confirm your booking (you will be informed in time by the booking department).

Toprent does not keep any reservation fee or other guarantee unlike other car rental sites. The amount of the total payment will be shown in the last stage of the booking process. Once you complete your booking with all the details about you, your rental will be created.

A one way car hire works by you picking up the car in one location and then dropping it off at another. One way rentals are available on request with extra charge, depending on different locations.Except the Downtown location & the Port of Rethymno.

If you wish to extend your rental period, please contact us as soon as possible.

If your rental car category is not available, we have the right to refuse the rental extension or can upgrade your vehicle with additional cost.

In case of cancellation, customers should give at least 72-hour prior notice.No amount is refunded or transferred to any other booking period.

After pick-up of the vehicle, any change or cancellation from the initial time schedule is not refunded.

The renter has to return the car with the same quantity of fuel it had when collected. In case the car is returned with less fuel than the original (less than the quantity of fuel the vehicle had when collected by the customer), the customer shall be charged with the fuel difference based on the current market price. No customer refund is provided in case of the car returned with a quantity of fuel greater than that collected.

Renter will be charged with the value of the car key in case of loss or damage.In case of replacement away from our office the renter will be charged with the transport fee, which is depended on the distance we have to go through.

Additional Driver : The 2nd driver’s is extra 5€ per day.
Baby/Booster Seats : are available upon request with charge : 6,2€ per day, per seat.
GPS : is available upon request with charge : 7€ per day.
Road Assistance 24/7 : is available with charge : 5€ per day.
Out of Hours Charge is 25€ cost.
Young Driver Fee – 18€ per Day. (Drivers aged 21-23 (allowed to drive car groups A1/A4/C1/C2/C4/D1 only).
F.D.W. 30€ per Day or 40€ for Suv/4×4.
Excess Reduction to 300€: 12 per day for groups A1/A4/C1/C2/C4/D1/D2/D3.
Excess Reduction to 500€ : 20 per day for groups E1,E2,E3,E5,E7.

*All our extras are subject to the relevant discount policies of the period except 7/8/9.

The responsibility rests with the hirer and will not be done by our employees. This is due to liability in case of inappropriate installation.

It is mandatory by Greek law to use rear facing infant seat for babies under 12 months old, baby seat for children under 5 years old and baby seat or booster for children up to 6 years.

If the vehicle is returned exceptionally dirty and requires special cleaning extra charges will apply ( variable, from 25€ – 150€ ). This charge is variable based on the condition of the vehicle.

This cost (75€) includes all of the paperwork that needs to be done in case of an accident. The whole amount is refundable at the end of the rental if everything was ok.

International one way rentals are not available. Transporting and driving the vehicles outside the island of Crete is not allowed.

Delays on drop-off more than 1 hour the renter will be charged with additional hours. In case of flight delay there are no extra charges. If for any other reason ,rather than the above ,the renter does not show up at the pick-up time within an hour there is a possibility of missing his rental and no refunds are made.

Collision Damage Waiver (C.D.W.) – Reduces the liability of the renter for damage to the car up to the amount of the excess,
a) for Car Groups A, A1,A4, A5, B, B1, B3 Maximum Charge €620.
b) for car groups C, C1, C2, C4 maximum charge €620.
c) for car groups D, D2, D4, D5, F, T maximum charge €992.
d) for car groups E, Ε1,E2, E4, E5 maximum charge €1860.
e) for car groups G, G2, G4, G5, H, H2, H4 maximum charge €1400.
f) for car groups T1, T2, T3 maximum charge €1500.
g) for car groups K, K2, K3, K4, K5 maximum charge €1600.
h) for car groups I, I2, I4 maximum charge €1800.
i) for car groups L1, L2, maximum charge €2500.
j) for car groups L3, L4, L5, L6 maximum charge €3500.
The excess is reserved for the period of rental by a credit card which must be issued in the name of the driver and will be fully refunded after the end of the rental period if no damage has occurred. The Basic Insurance does not cover damage to the underneath of the car, tires,mirror and crystal breakage.

Full Collision Damage Waiver with No Excess (F.D.W.)
The renter can be FULLY exempt from the above-mentioned C.D.W. excess amount with an affordable premium per day,
a) for car groups A, A4, A5, B, B1, B3, C, C1, C2, C4,D1,D2,D4,D3 daily premium cost €30.
b) for car groups E7, E, E2, E4, E5 daily premium cost €40.
c) for car groups F, G, G2, G4, G5, T daily premium cost €30.
d) for car groups K, K2, K3, K4, K5, H, H2, H4 daily premium cost €30.
e) for car groups I, I2, I4, T1, T2, T3 daily premium cost €30.
With this package No Credit Card Need. We do not need to preauthorize any amount as warranty.
The Optional Insurance does not cover damage to the underside of the car, tires and crystal breakage.

You are insured in the event of injury or destruction of third party property beyond the renter and the passengers.

When the driver is under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
After an accident, if driver does not stop and does not take the necessary actions, such as informing our company immediately, the Traffic Police (100), getting names and addresses of those involved in the accident, and not moving the car from the point where the accident took place before the representative of the insurance company or the Traffic Police arrives.
When the renter uses the car for unfair and illegal purposes, for example. smuggling, theft, illegal transport of objects and goods.
When the driver is not declared on the Rental Agreement.
The driver uses the car for any kind of racing or competition.
Damages caused to the vehicle because of off road driving (road without asphalt, beaches, mountains etc).
The vehicle is used in violation of the traffic regulations (e.g. road signs, speed limits, road direction).
In case of fire or theft.
